Betsy is the managing partner of Gillaspy & Rhode, PLLC, a 100% woman-owned law firm with offices in both Washington and Oregon. Throughout her career, Betsy’s legal work has focused on construction matters. Martindale Hubbell rates Betsy "AV”, its highest ranking of attorney skills and abilities, and lists Betsy in its Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers. Betsy is excited to be working with such a great group of people on the NARAL board.
Erin Haick co-chairs the PAC and serves on the C4 board. Her day job is as Political Director of Fuse Washington, the state’s largest progressive organization, where she works with Fuse members to win on issues, elect progressive champions, and hold elected officials accountable. Erin has been organizing for over ten years, starting with SEIU in homecare fights for dignity, better pay, and working conditions across the US and Canada, and later leading the civic engagement program at OneAmerica.
Deborah Oyer is a family medicine physician specializing in women’s reproductive healthcareat Cedar River Clinics. She is an Associate Clinical Professor in both Family Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology at UW School of Medicine, teaching abortion care and family planning. Dr. Oyer received her BA from Middlebury College and her MD from Harvard University. She served in the Peace Corps in Palau, Micronesia. She has been on the NARAL Pro-Choice Washington Board since 2010.
Cecilia Nguyen Sorci is a principal consultant at Pacific Public Affairs, where she provides strategic communications, media relations, crisis communications, electoral campaign planning, government relations, social media outreach and grass roots organizing for clients. Much of her client work at PPA centers round health care policy and health care reform for both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations.
Cecilia has worked in communications for federal and local governments, in addition to working in the private sector as a daily print journalist. Cecilia lives in the Maple Valley area with her husband and daughter.
Misha Werschkul is the Executive Director of the Washington State Budget and Policy Center. Prior to joining the Budget and Policy Center,Misha spent 10 years in various roles with the Service Employees International Union, including leading the legislative and health policy program for SEIU 775 in Washington State, and served as a fellow with the Institute for Women's Policy Research in Washington, DC. Misha has a Master's degree in Public Policy and Women's Studies from George Washington University. Misha also serves as a board member for Northwest Health Law Advocates, and as the Chair of the SEIU Health Benefits Trust.
