Job Positions:
Community Organizer

NARAL is seeking activists to fight back against the assault on women’s reproductive rights.

Unfortunately, we are fighting some of the same battles for women’s reproductive rights that activists fought for in the 60’s and 70’s.

To fight back against the attacks from right-wing conservatives, NARAL Pro-Choice Washington is hiring passionate, motivated people with excellent interpersonal communication skills to organize and mobilize Washington’s pro-choice majority.

Job description:

Community organizers canvass communities across the state of Washington to identify and mobilize pro-choice supporters.  We do small donor fundraising and ask people to take part in our calls to action. Community organizers put the active in grassroots activism.

The first half of the day is training and issue education. The second half of the day is going out into different communities educating and activating people on current issues to achieve our organization’s goal to create a world that respects a woman’s reproductive freedom and privacy.

EOE (GLBT & people of color encouraged to apply)

Hours: Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm

Full-time and part-time positions are available. Full-time is M-F 2pm-10pm; part-time is 3 or 4 of these days with the same hours. For part-time work the days are flexible, but the hours are the same.

Benefits:

·         Competitive Pay

·         Base pay is $400/week (for full-time) plus bonus incentives.

·         Health benefits

·         We offer both health insurance and dental coverage for full-time employees.

·         Comprehensive training program

Our training program lasts from 2-4 weeks and is paid.  Participants will gain within this time all the skills necessary to be professional issue organizers and fundraisers.

As a progressive non-profit working in policy and advocacy, the work environment is fun and exciting. There are opportunities for growth within the organization and plenty of application for the skills learned while canvassing.
