Defend No-Cost Birth Control
Anti-choice organizations and anti-choice hardliners in Congress have turned their sights on rolling back the Obama administration’s no-cost birth control rule. Millions of women’s access to birth control without co-pay is on the line. Please add your name to our petition on the White House “We The People” website to show that pro-choice support for birth control coverage for all women far outnumbers opposition.* We need 25,000 signatures right away! On January 20, the Obama administration announced its final policy on no-cost birth control. The administration resisted a pressure campaign from anti-contraception groups that wanted to broaden the refusal rule in a way that would have allowed many employers, including universities and hospitals, to refuse to cover birth control. All women should have access to contraceptive coverage regardless of where they work. Birth control is basic health care for women: 99 percent of all women will use birth control at some point in their lives. Millions of women and families will benefit from this coverage. * Please note that you will need to create an account on WhiteHouse.gov to sign the petition.
