Senate Republicans' Budget: Bad for Workers, Women, and Families
Republican Senators in our state are determined to pass a cruel and ineffectual budget that targets workers, women, and children. The proposed Senate budget would greatly reduce funding for the following programs:
- Family planning ($1.7 Million)
- Basic food assistance ($4 Million)
- Working Connections, a program that helps low-income families pay for child care ($22 Milion)
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) ($22.8 Million)
This budget is out of touch with the values of Washington voters, and it is our job to demand that our representatives do better! As the State Senate and House negotiate a final budget, please send a message to your Senator today demanding that they don't support any budget that will devastate the lives of low-income women and families.
