Reproductive Justice
The term Reproductive Justice refers to the procurement of women’s reproductive rights within the greater context of universal human rights and social justice. The Reproductive Justice Movement strives for the overall well-being of women through the full protection of women’s human rights, and the conditions necessary to realize these rights. The movement attacks reproductive oppression by targeting the social contexts, for instance race, class, or age, which prevent women from exercising their reproductive rights. Below you’ll find fact sheets on a number of issues that fall within the realm of reproductive justice including: specific reproductive health challenges faced by women of color; the lack of government funding for abortion care; and the dearth of abortion providers in many rural communities.
