“Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Political differences aside, his commitment to public service and an independent judiciary will be remembered for generations to come.
With two vacancies at once to be filled, the Court is poised for a monumental change that will profoundly impact the daily lives of ordinary Americans. While there will be serious debate over the future of the Court, we should take a moment to pay tribute to Chief Justice Rehnquist’s years of service to our country.”
