The congressional candidate wants to see Roe v. Wade overturned During an interview with King 5, anti-choice congressional candidate Jaime Herrera stated that she would like Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision that established the right to choose safe and legal abortion care, overturned. Herrera is facing pro-choice candidate Denny Heck in the General Election. Pro-choice Congressman Brian Baird is not seeking re-election. “Jaime Herrera’s comments are alarming,” said Lauren Simonds, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Washington. “She has shown her true colors: she does not believe women should have the right to make personal medical decisions without interference from politicians.” “It is clear that Herrera would be a consistent vote against women’s rights and health as a member of Congress,” Ms. Simonds added.
